R&D in EU

Research has been even higher on the agenda than usual in Brussels in the past week, with

> the presentation of a petition on research and innovation to the President of the European Council, movement on the organisation of the ERC, and

> a speech by Science and Research Commissioner Janez Potocnik in which he detailed which areas of the FP7 proposal may change with a reduced budget, and which will definitely remain.
